A former literature teacher, I am inspired by great works and great ideas. I enjoy being physically active, cutting through alleyways, listening to vinyl, taking photographs, and contemplating life. I am the creator of the blog: Zen for a Crazy World. One of my blog posts, a letter to my daughter on the occasion of her high school graduation, was featured on various media including: NBC news, the Today Show, VanCity Buzz (now Daily Hive Vancouver), Vancouver Breakfast Television, Love What Matters, and more. Read it here.
My blog post on street artist Ken Foster has also proven to be very popular, and I am excited to announce that Ken and I are currently working on an exciting collaboration project. Details coming soon. The Tortured Artist is Alive and Well...and His Name is Ken
I am Associate Superintendent with West Vancouver Schools, a wonderful school district nestled between the mountains and the sea here on the west coast of Canada. Innovation excites me. I am very interested in integrative thinking and non-linear approaches to learning. In 2014 I was identified by The Learning Partnership as one of Canada's Outstanding PrincipalsTM.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a Master of Arts Degree in Education and Leadership from Simon Fraser University. I completed an Executive Leadership Program at Rotman School of Management in 2014.
